SNP 6 Annotator

About this program

This program is designed to annotate the text output files from the Affymertix genotyping console. These files are no longer annotated like the original Affymetrix "*.xls" files and so can not be used by either AutoSNPa or IBDfinder. The program first reads an annotation file which can be downloaded (for free) from the Affymetrix web page. When the program has extracted the relevant data it reads all the genotype text files in a folder and then creates an annotated version. The original genotype text files must be exported with one individual's data per file. These files can then be used with AutoSNPa and IBDFinder.

It must be noted that the new generation of SNP chip data contains a lot of data and so requires more RAM memory and a quicker processor than the older NSP and STY SNP chips.
